Snow Day... EEC Closed!

Good evening EEC Families,

I suppose this is just par for the course on decisions that are not so easy to make. However, I believe the best choice is to call tomorrow a SNOW DAY.

Currently conditions are not that bad, but the forecast is still calling for more snow and icy rain. While a late opening is an option, I fear if we open at 10am and need to send everyone home due to more snow as of mid-afternoon. This would mean our teachers are making drives in the snow in potentially dangerous conditions, as well as children being picked up in unsafe conditions. With the forecast calling for intermittent snow and high winds and ice, it would make the most sense to err on the side of caution rather than play wait and see.

I tend to always think storms are going to be a bust. However, meteorology seems to be the most imperfect science. SO I'm going with the expectation that it's going to snow the rest of the night and all day tomorrow. Bake some cookies, enjoy hot cocoa, play in the snow in the morning, and hope for 3 hour naps.

ALL children should plan to have FULL snow gear (boots, snow coat, extra layers if you don't have snow pants, extra shoes, socks, mittens/gloves, hats) on Tuesday (and for the rest of the week). Thank you for your understanding!

Teachers - Turn off your alarms. Do a happy dance. Be ready to play in the snow on Tuesday. I'll bring a sled and snow pants too!
