Hybrid Learning at EEC

COVID-19 HYBRID SCHOOL AGE LEARNING PROGRAM

Grades 1-3

EEC is offering a hybrid school age learning program. This will be a small learning environment for no more than 12-15 children. This would be held upstairs in one of the large youth rooms. The teachers will assist children with their online learning and execute developmentally appropriate activities to promote learning. This will include traditional school closure days, as well as planned COVID-19 closures and long-term closures due to COVID-19.

This will not eliminate parent involvement, but this would allow for parents to access academic care for children. We would not be responsible for grades, but we will support online learning. This would also be coupled with in classroom small group teaching based on the abilities of the children. Again – while we know this is still in design phase, we do feel confident we will be able to meet the needs of children and families.

Who is eligible? A child from any school is eligible. Depending on the school’s hybrid learning program we may have to discuss expectations.

Priority will be given to current EEC families, then alumni, then the general public.

Children whose schools/classrooms are closed at their primary school will have to follow restrictions for care as set by Delaware Public Health and Department of Education.
