Happy New Year!

2023 is here. We made it through the holiday season and now we work on getting back to business as usual. (READ UNTIL THE END PLEASE)

It's been three years since I took over ownership of EEC. Things haven't quite gone as planned -- global pandemic, mass exodus of the workforce (nationwide), constant and inconsistent regulatory changes -- and an upheaval to our normal day to day lives.

What has sustained us all is the kids. What hasn't changed is our committment and passion of creating and nurturing a safe, caring, creative, and positive learning and care environment for your children.

EEC has been extraordinarly lucky (both by chance and design) throughout this time. We have a committed and dedicated staff that has been the backbone of our success. There are no words to sufficiently thank the entire staff.

We have TWO major openings through the month of January - that we are currently interviewing for: 11:30am-5:30pm Tuesday/Thursday (2) and 1:30pm-5:45pm (MWF). Unfortunately this is being made more difficult by federal changes to our hiring requirements.

We are thrilled be welcoming new staff and welcoming returning staff members: Help us welcome: Tehja Ellison; Kyma Fulgence, who was a former EEC teacher. She opened her own center, worked at the DIEEC: Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood, and is missing connection with children; Emily Sanzone and; Kenji Hernandez who is returing from maternity leave in February. Please help us welcome everyone back!

All that brings us to needing to continue the shortened hours (8am-5pm) a bit longer. We are going to continue through January, 27th. This change has absolutely kept us from having to close classrooms.

Familes that need care before 8am or after 5pm - email admin@eecde.org. Please give us details of if it's needed every day or only certain days per week. When we know how many children we need care we can prepare a plan. We thank you for your continued patience.

Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email, call, or stop in.

Thank you to Ms. Taylor, Ms. Kayleigh, Ms. Erin F., Ms. Erin R., Ms. Maya, Ms. Lauren, Ms. Andrea, and Ms. Shannon for really stepping up throughout the holidays and giving us extra time.
