COVID-19 Reminders/Updates

Good morning EEC Families,

I wanted to send you an email to follow up on the quarantine guidelines and what that means for your children and families .We received confirmation of the quarantine guidelines. If your child should test positive for COVID-19 they will have to remain out for 10 days. If your child tests positive for COVID-19 and is symptomatic, they will need to stay out until symptoms resolve. If your child is a close contact of someone that has tested positive, and they have no symptoms, your child must quarantine/isolate for 7 days with a negative test after day 5 to return on day 8. If you are unable to get a test, then your child must stay out for the full 10 day quarantine. Should symptoms develop a test is required and the quarantine/isolation period begins from day zero when symptoms first started.

Day 0 = day of close contact, day symptoms begin, day of Positive COVID-19 test if no symptoms. If anyone in your immediate household is awaiting COVID-19 test results or has been deemed a close contact all children in the household must stay home until the negative test results come in. If your child is a close contact, is over the age of 5, and they have received their vaccine, they are not required to quarantine. The CDC does continue to recommend that children over the age of 2 wear a mask. Again, we have not mandated this for our children, but we will support any family that would like their child to wear a mask. Wearing a mask does not change the requirement to quarantine if contact does occur. If you would like for your child to wear a mask, please be sure to bring several masks so that we can change your child's mask should it become soiled. Children under the age of 2 are NOT permitted to wear masks. I continue to thank you for your support as we work through this recent wave of COVID. It seems never ending. Please note children with symptoms of COVID-19 may not come to school without a negative COVID-19 test or a note from the doctors. If they are sent home please follow the instructions on the Illness at School form, but children all must be out if sent home from school for a minimum of one full day. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office. Thank you, Jamie
